ART THERAPY PROGRAM
Art therapy at Magee includes drawing, painting, sculpture, clay modeling, quilting, photography, museum visits and a variety of other creative outlets. The focus of art therapy within a physical rehabilitation hospital s to work with individuals through creating artwork as an addition to existing care, in an effort to further promote successful rehabilitation. Click here to see highlights of the Magee 2004 Calendar. CREATIVE ARTS Magee offers an Open Art Studio and Quilt Club on Friday's from 3:15--4:15 pm, and two Saturday's each month. The studio and quilt clubs are held at Magee. Friday's sessions are held in the greenhouse, and Saturday's are held in the second floor conference room. Anyone with a disability and their family is invited to attend free of charge. No prior art experience is necessary. Supplies are provided. For further information or for a schedule call (215) 275-3140. Theater Class Magee offers a free eight week theater workshop for any adult with a disability. If interested, please contact 215-587-3070 to find out about workshop and performance dates. Dance Troupe Magee has started a wheelchair dance troupe for adults with disabilities. Members may be in wheelchairs or walking. No previous dance experience is required. If you are interested, please contact the dance/movement therapists at (215) 587-3392. |
