What People Say About Magee Nurses

A letter from a former patient:

I have many people to praise for being more than just employees at Magee. My experience with Magee goes back to 1993. I've had the opportunity to meet many of the staff members during my four different inpatient stays at Magee. The team on the SCI unit is outstanding. These professionals are caring, competent, hard working, and considerate. They take time to help far beyond the call of duty and they offer patients a complete atmosphere for healing.

Thanks to all of the nice people at Magee who helped me during my stay last October. I can't remember all the names of those who helped me, but they all did a great job. I will always appreciate you and I thank you very much.

Magee's fifth-floor nursing staff received the following note of thanks from a former patient:

Thank you for making my stay at Magee as pleasant as possible. It didn't seem like your job. You made it seem as if you were a friend taking great care of another friend. You are the nicest friends around.

A former Magee patient wrote the following note of thanks:

I've had a great deal of pain as a person with a C5/C6 level spinal cord injury. But, Magee taught me the meaning of the word 'patience.' I learned that you can show absolute love to a stranger. Each health-care professional who walked into my room provided me with top-notch care and words of wisdom. I had nurses rub my head and listen to my stories. I had speech pathologists and physical and occupational therapists that helped me. I had a doctor talk me through an anxiety attack. Thank you for all of the love that you showed me. You eased my pain and lifted my spirit.
