Helena Lax, M.D., joins staff at Magee

PHILADELPHIA – Helena Lax, M.D., has joined Magee Rehabilitation Hospital as a physiatrist and is treating patients who are admitted to Magee to rehabilitate following orthopedic surgery and individuals with other neuromuscular conditions.

Board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation, Dr. Lax, of Blue Bell, Pa., has more than 15 years of medical experience. She is highly skilled in physical medicine and rehabilitation, having most recently served as an attending physician at Chestnut Hill Rehabilitation Hospital. Her extensive experience also includes work in internal medicine.

“Dr. Lax is a tremendous addition to our team of physicians and will greatly add to the quality care our patients receive,” says William E. Staas Jr., M.D, FACP. “She is very compassionate and will help individuals with disabilities reach their maximum level of independence.”

A graduate of Charles University in Prague, Czechoslovakia, Dr. Lax is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, and the American Academy of Pain Management.

In addition to her experience in the Philadelphia area, Dr. Lax has worked in New York, Canada and Czechoslovakia.
