Magee Rehabilitation Hospital Foundation Board of Trustees Elects Philadelphia Resident as New Member

Philadelphia, Pa. – The Magee Rehabilitation Hospital Foundation Board of Trustees has elected Michael J. Hurwitz of Philadelphia, Pa. (19106), to be its newest member. He has been a staunch supporter of Magee’s Night of Champions, helping to obtain numerous auction items that have raised thousands of dollars for the Hospital community programs and services.

Hurwitz is President and Creative Director of United Incentives, Inc., a full service incentive marketing company in Philadelphia. A graduate of The Pennsylvania State University, he has held several positions in advertising, marketing, and sales promotion prior to founding his own company.

A member of the Board of Directors for six years of the Society of Incentive & Travel Executives—and its president in 1990—Hurwitz is the co-author of Upward Bound: A Step-By-Step Guide to Profitable Incentive Planning. He has also written numerous articles and has lectured extensively on incentive marketing throughout North and South America, Mexico, the Caribbean, Europe, and Asia, including McGill University in Montreal and the Graduate School of Business at the University of Navarra in Barcelona.

He has earned the Certified Incentive Travel Executive designation, the industry’s highest recognition, and has created incentive programs that have won 12 SITE Crystal Awards for Excellence.  He was also on the Executive Committee of the Philadelphia Convention and Visitors Bureau and is presently a member of several industry advisory councils.
