Magee Rehabilitation Hospital Vice President Named Senior Scholar at Jefferson Medical College

Philadelphia, Pa. – Letty Piper, Vice President of Clinical Operations at Magee Rehabilitation Hospital, has been named a Senior Scholar in the Department of Health Policy at Jefferson Medical College.

She will be involved in teaching, precepting, and engaging in collaborative research efforts in health policy. The position is a non-faculty appointment. Ms. Piper is also an adjunct faculty member at Immaculata University and Villanova University.

In Ms. Piper’s role as Vice President of Clinical Operations at Magee Rehabilitation Hospital, she directs the nurses, therapists and other professional care providers at the Hospital

She has served in progressive management positions including Head Nurse, Chief Nursing Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Clinical Officer at hospitals ranging in size from 100 to 550 beds. 

Mrs. Piper has been involved with hospitals in Vermont, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Delaware, and New York State. She has worked as a Management Consultant for Coopers and Lybrand, Speltz and Weis and the Hunter Group.  She specializes in organizational redesign and process management.  Mrs. Piper is on the faculty of Immaculata University and Villanova University and teaches Healthcare Management at the Graduate Level.  She has authored numerous articles and chapters in the Healthcare literature.  

She received a Bachelor's and Master's degree in Nursing from the University of Pennsylvania.
