Magee Rehabilitation Hospital ranked Number 15 among nation’s top hospitals in U.S. News & World Report’s annual survey
PHILADELPHIA – Magee Rehabilitation Hospital moved up three spots to number 15 in U.S. News & World Report’s latest edition of America’s leading hospitals. In the publication’s 17th annual “America’s Best Hospitals” rankings, which hit newsstands on July 10, Magee received a 6.7 reputation score—the highest the hospital has received since the inception of U.S. News’ top hospital rankings—a 1.1-point improvement from last year. Based on a survey of physicians, U.S. News & World Report lists just 176 medical centers from a total of 5,189 in 16 specialties. The rankings add to Magee’s reputation as a premier rehabilitation hospital. Hospitals are ranked based on a rolling three-year survey of randomly selected board-certified physicians in each specialty. Physicians are asked to list hospitals in their specialty without considering cost or location. “It is with great pride that Magee Rehabilitation Hospital has been recognized by its peers as one of the nation’s top hospitals,” says Guy Fried, M.D., Magee’s Chief Medical Officer. “It is a testament of the fine physicians, therapists, nurses, and staff that Magee has improved its ranking each of the last four years. Magee remains committed to improving the quality of life for persons with disabilities by providing excellent physical and cognitive rehabilitation services.” |
