Magee Rehabilitation Hospital Vice President from West Chester Named Fundraising Executive of the Year
Philadelphia, Pa. – The Greater Philadelphia Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (GPCAFP) named Ronald W. Siggs, CRFE, Vice President of Development and Public Relations at Magee Rehabilitation Hospital, as its 2006 Fundraising Executive of the Year. Siggs of West Chester, Pa, accepted his award in front of more than 650 guests at the GPCAFP’s National Philanthropy Day Awards Luncheon on Thursday, November 9, at the Philadelphia Marriott. The annual event recognizes individuals, corporations, foundations and organizations for their outstanding commitment to philanthropy. Siggs joined Magee in 1992 as Director of Development. In his current post as Vice president of Development and Public Relations, he leads and is responsible for development, public relations and Think First, a community education and injury prevention program. He is involved in all aspects of corporate communications, as well as strategic planning as it relates to development, communications, and public relations. He is also a key executive of the Magee Rehabilitation Foundation. Siggs formerly served on the Board of the Association of Fund Raising Professionals Greater Philadelphia Chapter, and chaired the Chapter’s Committee on Directors. He has served on various committees for the United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania, including as a member of the Community Impact Committee, Network Relations Committee, Promoting Health Committee and the Marketing Committee. He is on the Board of Directors of Alpha Inc. at the University of Pennsylvania and on the Board of the National Transplant Assistance Fund. Siggs serves on the faculty of the Fundamentals of Fund Raising course at Villanova University. He is also a faculty member of the Grass Roots Organization Development Education Program. He is a member of Paoli Presbyterian Church and serves on the Finance and Stewardship Committee. Siggs has an undergraduate degree from the University of Washington and a Masters of Management from Penn State University. He is a Certified Fund Raising Executive. He and his wife, Terri, have two children. |
