Magee Launches Patient Education TV System

Magee Rehabilitation hospital recently launched its Patient Education Television Network. It is now accessible to all patients. Patient TVs and large-screen TVs in patient lounges are networked to receive this programming.

This exciting project brings educational videos directly to the TV monitors of each Magee patient. A hospital committee has selected programming which covers health and wellness issues, specific rehabilitation conditions, as well as adjustment issues faced after acute rehabilitation treatment.

The system works in two ways:

  • On demand access: Patients view a menu of titles and call-up a specific title via the telephone in their room to play on their personal TV monitor.
  • Scheduled play: Patients tune into specific channels that play videos from our collection on a timed schedule which each patient will have posted in their rooms.

The system has been made available due to generous funds provided through The Friends of Jerry Segal. The 18th Annual Jerry Segal Classic will be held September 28, 2007.
