Magee Ranked Among Nation’s Top Hospitals in U.S. News & World Report

PHILADELPHIA – Magee Rehabilitation Hospital has again been rated one of America’s leading  hospitals by U.S. News & World Report. In its 15th annual “America’s Best Hospitals” rankings, which appear in the July 12 edition of the publication, Magee ranks 21 in the nation among rehabilitation hospitals. Based on a survey of physicians, U.S. News & World Report lists just 177 medical centers from a total of 6,012 in 17 specialties.

“We are very pleased to be considered by our peers among America’s top hospitals, and to be recognized for the high quality of care we provide to our patients,” said William E. Staas, Jr., MD, FACP, Magee’s President and Medical Director. “The honor is a tribute to the dedication of Magee’s expert physicians and staff who are committed to helping patients reach their maximum level of independence.”

The rankings add to Magee’s reputation as a premier rehabilitation hospital. Hospitals are ranked based on a rolling three-year survey of randomly selected board-certified physicians in each specialty. Physicians are asked to list hospitals in their specialty without considering cost or location. The National Opinion Research Center at the University of Chicago conducted the survey.
