Philadelphia (April 2002)—Approximately three dozen of the most accomplished wheelchair tennis players from up and down the east coast will participate in the upcoming Philadelphia Wheelchair Tennis Tournament. The  tournament will be held Friday, May 31 through Sunday, June 2, 2002 at the Lott Tennis Courts, 33rd and Locust Streets, on the University of Pennsylvania’s campus.

In the event of rain, the tournament will move indoors, to the Levy Pavilion, 3120 Walnut Street.

The tournament, sponsored by Advanta, is presented by Magee Rehabilitation, Moss Rehab and the Philadelphia Department of Recreation’s Carousel House. Admission is free of charge, and the public is invited to come out and see the fast-paced action of wheelchair tennis in which the only “break” allowed the players is two bounces instead of one.
