Magee Rehabilitation’s Theater Arts Class presents “The Butterfly”
Philadelphia (April 2001)—The Theater Arts Class at Magee Rehabilitation Hospital will present its second performance, “The Butterfly,” at Magee from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Friday, April 27, 2001. The Magee Rehabilitation Hospital Theater Arts Class is comprised of nine Philadelphia area residents who have survived stroke, brain injury or developmental disability. Magee’s Theater Arts Program is designed to encourage and support individuals with cognitive disabilities to participate in the artistic community and to provide them with resources to reach their maximum potential in the arts. This performance is the culmination of an eight-week course in which the performers have studied mime and performing arts with masks and live music. Additional classes and performances are scheduled for May/June 2001. The program is funded by the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts and Magee Rehabilitation Hospital. |
