World’s Best Wheelchair Basketball Players To Compete
In 2001 NBA/NWBA All-Star Wheelchair Classic
Washington, D.C. (February 2001)—The National Basketball Association and the National Wheelchair Basketball Association will present the 2001 NBA/NWBA All-Star Wheelchair Classic at the Washington Convention Center in Washington, D.C. on Thursday, February 8 at 7:30 p.m. The game will feature 24 of the best wheelchair basketball players from 23 cities across the United States. Among those competing is Magee Sixers Spokesmen wheelchair basketball player John DeAngelo. DeAngelo, an 18-year veteran of wheelchair basketball, is a seven-time Mid-Atlantic Conference All-Star. He is also a two-time NCAA wheelchair basketball MVP. The game will be held at the 2001 NBA All-Star Jam Session presented by Fleer on Jam Session’s Center Court. Jam Session, which features more than 300,000 square feet of interactive basketball games, activities and entertainment, will take place at the Washington Convention Center from February 8 -11, during NBA All-Star Weekend 2001.
