Magee Rehabilitation Hospital Hosts 14th Annual Night of Champions Fundraiser

April 7, 2014

Magee Rehabilitation Hospital will host the 14th Annual Night of Champions  fundraiser on Friday, May 2 at Penns Landing Caterers. All proceeds benefit  Magees community and patient programs, such as wheelchair sports, adjunctive  therapies, the Patient Resource Center and the Gaspar Center. The evening  features dinner, live and silent auctions, live entertainment, local sports  celebrities and more.

"The Night of Champions  event is not only an opportunity for the Hospital to raise funds for our many  patient and community programs, but also to recognize those who have made a  difference in the lives of people living with disabilities," said Jack Carroll,  President and CEO of Magee Rehabilitation Hospital. "Now in its 14th amazing  year, this night makes a tremendous difference in the lives of our patients and  their families -- and we couldn't be more grateful."

The 14th Annual Night of Champions will be held at  Penns Landing Caterers, 1301 South Columbus Boulevard in Philadelphia on Friday,  May 2, with a V.I.P. reception at 6 p.m. and dinner at 7 p.m. The V.I.P.  reception will include special appearances by John Giannini; Tommy Greene; Joe  Hand, Sr.; Joe Hand, Jr.; Mike Mamula; Speedy Morris; Scott Palmer; John  Spagnola; Brett Brown; Jon Runyan; and Billy Cunningham. Throughout the evening,  guests will have the opportunity to participate in live and silent auctions, as  well as live entertainment by The Reverb Brothers and appearances by Magee's  wheelchair sports teams.

The evening also includes the presentation of the  2014 Champion in the Community Award to Fred Duling and BAYADA Home Health Care.  Fred Duling incurred a spinal cord injury during a fall at the Malta Boat Club  on Philadelphia's Boathouse Row in 2010. Since his injury, Fred has become a  Magee Champion, serving on the Patient Advisory and Walk It Out Event  Committees, as well as in Magee's Peer Mentor Program. BAYADA Home Health Care  has been a longtime partner and supporter of Magee Rehabilitation Hospital and  people with disabilities.  BAYADA provides nursing, rehabilitative, therapeutic,  hospice and assistive care services for people of all ages in the comfort of  their homes.  The annual BAYADA Regatta, the nationҒs oldest and largest  all-adaptive rowing competition for athletes with physical disabilities, is  sponsored solely by BAYADA Home Health Care.
