Magee is one of the Delaware Valley's leading authorized
providers of specialized care for wounded veterans

PHILADELPHIA, PA, May 24, 2012 -- Magee Rehabilitation, one of the nation's top-ranked rehabilitation hospitals, is celebrating its fifth year as an authorized provider of specialized medical care for wounded veterans returning from military service. With Magee, our returning heroes are able to receive top quality care and compassion, while remaining close to their family and loved ones.

"We are truly honored to offer our veterans a home away from home," said Jack Carroll, Ph.D., President and CEO of Magee Rehabilitation. "Our team is proud to utilize their skills, expertise and passion to help our returning heroes and their families heal - all while staying close to home."

Located in Center City Philadelphia, Magee Rehabilitation is nationally recognized for its outstanding programs in physical and cognitive rehabilitation, with comprehensive services for spinal cord injury, brain injury, stroke, orthopedics, amputation, pain management and work injury.  Many of the injuries suffered by our troops, such as brain trauma, amputation or injuries caused by military-grade weapons, are similar to those injuries Magee's doctors, therapists and nurses treat every day.

Once at Magee, each veteran has access to a physiatrist, nurse, occupational therapist, physical therapist, speech/language pathologist, psychologist, social worker/case manager and recreational therapist. This unique approach to rehabilitation ensures a high quality of care, and involves veterans and their families in the goal-setting process. Traditional therapies are enhanced by other services, including day rehabilitation, vocational counseling and peer support groups, among many other programs designed to help our veterans return to their lives. All veterans also have access to community-based outpatient programs as part of Magee's comprehensive lifetime follow-up system.
