Magee Rehabilitation Hospital, ranked among the best rehabilitation hospitals in the United States for spinal cord injury, stroke, amputation, traumatic brain injury, orthopedic replacement and pain management has joined the Philadelphia International Medicine (PIM) network.

PIM is an organization that provides medical and patient support services to international patients. It also provides continuing medical education and health care training to international physicians, practitioners and administrators. As the international department of several Philadelphia-area hospitals (Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children, Fox Chase Cancer Center, Temple University Hospital, Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Wills Eye Institute and the Home Care Network ) international patients gain access to physicians and hospitals rated among the best in the world.

"The affiliation will bring world class rehabilitation services to PIM patients, and will bring PIM's expertise in providing external support for international patients to Magee," said Leonard Karp, president and CEO of PIM.  "While Magee for many years has provided medical services to patients from around the world, by working together with PIM, both organizations can expand their presence and bring additional patients to the Philadelphia area."

"Magee Rehabilitation Hospital is very pleased to become part of the PIM network," said Magee's president and CEO, Jack A. Carroll, PhD., MHA. "Our staff, from clinicians to support staff, are devoted to helping patients get back to their lives and to have as high a level of independence as possible  Working with PIM will introduce our services and talented staff to patients worldwide."

Magee serves its patients through a 96 bed inpatient hospital and several outpatient facilities in and around Philadelphia. Magee--with Thomas Jefferson University Hospital--is one of the nation's 14-federally designated centers for spinal cord injury rehabilitation. Magee treats 5,000 patients annually.
