The 2011 Philadelphia Marathon, to be held on Sunday, November 20, will feature world-class athletes and weekend warriors alike, weaving their way through beautiful, historic Philadelphia for 26.2 miles.

Once again, generous runners will put one foot in front the other for a variety of official Philadelphia Marathon charities...

...and Magee Rehabilitation Hospital is one of them!

"Magee has been given 35 official 2011 Philadelphia Marathon entries," said Meg Rider, Magee's Community Programs Coordinator. "And the money raised through the purchase of those entries will support Magee's wheelchair sports program, which includes rugby, basketball, tennis, power wheelchair soccer and a racing team which will have members participating in the marathon."

A Magee Rehabilitation Hospital marathon entry costs $600.00 and includes: official entry in the Philadelphia Marathon or half marathon, a TEAM MAGEE racing singlet, complimentary marathon-eve pasta dinner for the runner and 3 supporters, free parking for the marathon at 16th&Race Streets (just blocks from the starting line), discounted room rates at the Hampton Inn at 13th&Race Streets (close to the starting line) and a pre-marathon, runner-friendly continental breakfast.

Not the running type but still want to support Magee through the Philadelphia Marathon initiative?

"We have an option for those who donҒt want to run, or cant run," said Rider. "We call it the Let them Run Club!  For a donation of $26.20, the monetary equivalent of the distance of a marathon, folks can support the TEAM MAGEE runners."

To purchase an official Philadelphia Marathon TEAM MAGEE entry, or to make a donation to the Let Them Run Club, contact Meg Rider at 215-587-3140 or MRider@MageeRehab.org.
