The Therapy Aide is responsible for working closely with the OT Advanced Clinician in the Assistive Technology Center. This person also closely collaborates with staff OTs and PTs, vendors, manufacturing reps, patients, and families. This role is integral in providing clinical services to people who are inpatient at the main hospital and to allow for increased access and use of assistive technology options during their stay at Magee. Primary accountabilities for individual in this role include providing support to the OT Advanced Clinician for assistive technology set-up and activities with patients. Additional responsibilities include organization and coordination of equipment in AT Center. Candidates for this position must be competent in basic aspects of assistive technology options as well as meet all requirement for therapy aides roles. Individuals considered for this role must be able to stand, walk, stoop, and lift in order to effectively assist patients. They must be able to exert 50 pounds of force while lifting patients and/or devices or have reasonable accommodations and must be able to have sufficient standing balance to guard ambulatory patients.

Position Requirements:
1. Demonstrates advanced clinical skills, knowledge, and competency in specialty area.
2. Possesses work skills, including effective communication, organization, initiative, interpersonal relations, and flexibility.
Education: Associates degree or Bachelors degree in health care or biomedical engineering field strongly preferred.
Licensures&Certifications: Must be CPR certified. Candidate must have or be eligible to work toward ATP certification within one year of accepting position.
Experience: At least three years clinical experience required in physical medicine and rehabilitation field. Prior experience with assistive technology, mobility and seating options required.
