Dr. Chris FormalDr. Barbara BrowneThis year, two Magee Rehabilitation Hospital doctors’ exemplary care and expertise has landed them on the 2009 Philadelphia Magazine Top Docs list.

 

Dr. Barbara Browne (Stroke Rehab, SCI, Geriatric Rehab) and Dr. Chris Formal (SCI, Spasticity Management, Pain Management) have both been selected by their peers to the list, which is compiled by Castle Connoly Medical Ltd.

 

"A big congratulations to Dr. Browne and Dr. Formal on behalf of everyone at Magee," said Magee’s Chief Medical Officer, Dr. Guy Fried, who has been a Top Doc several times. "Their patient care skills are great and they have produced consistently high quality care for many years.  It is a wonderful tribute to Magee for them to be recognized by those in our medical field."

 

A founding member of the Jefferson Health System, Magee Rehabilitation Hospital is the Philadelphia region’s first rehab hospital. Along with Thomas Jefferson University Hospital, Magee Rehabilitation is one of 14 federally designated model Regional Spinal Cord Injury Centers. Magee Rehabilitation is also home to the nation’s first brain injury rehab program to be accredited by the Commission on the Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities. Celebrating over 50 years in operation, the hospital is authorized to treat wounded military personnel returning from war.
