OVR is the Pennsylvania Office of Vocational Rehabilitation, a State Agency that helps persons with disabilities to help themselves to prepare for a new start, and maintain a career. OVR has fifteen offices located around the OVR Logo state with over 400 professional vocational rehabilitation counselors. These counselors work every year with with thousands of persons who have physical, mental, and emotional disabilities. Housed at Magee, hireAbility is the region's leading employment agency dedicated to the service of people with disabilities. hireAbility is a nonprofit organization dedicated to helping individuals with disabilities seek employment throughout Philadelphia and South Jersey. Headquartered at Magee Rehabilitation Hospital with offices in Blackwood, NJ, hireAbility works with a number of area businesses and receives daily updates on open positions in the region.

The organization also partners with various community agencies that provide computer and assistive technology training as well as other skills training. In addition, hireAbility can refer you to organizations that provide housing programs, transportation information and other services designed to help individuals return to work.

The Legal Clinic for the Disabled (LCD) is a non-profit organization housed within and partially funded by Magee Rehabilitation. It's mission is to provide civil law legal services at no charge for financially eligible, disabled clients. Clients are referred to lawyers who have volunteered their services to LCD. Cases include wrongful evictions, consumer fraud, employment discrimination and compliance failures related to the Americans with Disabled Act of 1990. Other services include estate planning and benefit consulting.

The Legal Clinic for the Disabled also provides direct representation to individuals who are abused or neglected by their attendant care providers or other caregivers. The clinic is also conducting outreach programs on this issue.The Legal Clinic for the Disabled would like to work with you regarding any of the above issues.

In addition to Magee, LCD is supported by the Young Lawyers Division of both Philadelphia and Pennsylvania Bar Associations.

This group provides education, recreation and support opportunities to individuals with spinal cord injuries. This will give individuals with SCI a better opportunity to mix and mingle, meet new people, reacquaint with familiar faces, and share concern and triumphs. Traditionally, meetings are held at Magee on the second Thursday of every month at 6 p.m. in the Second Floor Conference Room. However, social outings are scheduled based on availability and pricing.
